My Favorite Locations in Camden County for Photoshoots

Photography, especially when it comes to using a family photographer, is an essential aspect of any engagement, wedding, or maternity celebration.  

However, the location is just as important too. You want beautiful scenery to be present in your photos, but you also don’t want any unplanned cameos by strangers. Well, if you are looking for photography spots in Camden County, South Jersey, here is a great list of the best places I’ve found. All these locations would be perfect for Newborn & MaternityFamilyChildren, or Engagement-Wedding photoshoots.

Berlin Park:

Address: 27 S Park Dr, Berlin, NJ 08009

Berlin Park is a gorgeous park and has the Great Egg Harbor River located inside of it. It has multiple gravel and dirt nature trails, with a total of 5 miles, perfect for nature photography and would make for a great maternity and engagement backdrops. If you are into sports and would like some related photos, there are volleyball, basketball, tennis, and hockey courts, along with two softball fields.

Some ducks and geese roam this park, especially by the river, with a lot of trees surrounding the entire park area. And some open grassy spaces that would be perfect for those wide-angle shots. You can also go to one of the three picnic groves to have a bite to eat or for that romantic shoot you are looking to have.
Are you doing a maternity shoot? There are two different playgrounds to showcase that new adorable baby bump. If you or your spouse-to-be is into fishing, there is fishing allowed in the Great Egg Harbor River if you want that in your photoshoot as well.

Challenge Grove Park:

Address: 101 Bortons Mill Rd, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034

The Challenge Grove Park is located in Cherry Hill and has the cooper river inside of it. It is a massive park that has been awarded two awards, including the Innovative Accessible Facilities Award in 1996 and the Kinsey Facility Design Award in 1998. This park has the Boundless Field for your softball events, along with a basketball court, fitness quad, and two bocce courts. This is perfect for that sporty spouse of yours! 

There is a 1 ¼ mile track that does not allow bikes, which would be an excellent place for some gorgeous scenery photos. They also have a lovely gazebo that would be perfect for some photography. There are beautiful flowers, trees, and plenty of parking for all of your photography needs. There is a separate bike path, so if you two are into biking, this would be an excellent place for those kinds of photos to be taken.

If you are doing maternity photography, there is a magnificent landscaped donor recognition garden that would be ideal. You can also get some romantic photos done at one of the two picnic areas offered there.

Cooper River Park:

Address: N Park Dr, Pennsauken Township, NJ 08109

This beautiful park is located in Pennsauken, Cheery Hill, Collingswood, and Haddon Township. It is a large park with a lot of trees and open spaces for some excellent nature scenery in your photoshoot. Since it is also by the Cooper River, you can get some great water shots too. You can even get a few shots in a paddleboat or kayak, if you would like to, by renting one. Their yacht club offers sailing lessons which will give you some great photos for your engagement or wedding.

There are also pavilions at the Rohrer Playground, which are not reservable but can still be an excellent location for your photographer to take shots from. You can also bring your dog to this park if you want your pets in your photos, as well. There is even a specific section for a dog park there. There are a few bike paths you can go to for some magnificent scenery by the river, along with a beautiful sculpture garden.

Haddon Lake Park:

Address: Haddon Township, NJ 08107

Haddon Lake Park is a great park for photos to be taken at. It can be found in Audubon, Haddon Heights, and Mount Ephraim. It is an extensive section with a fishing pier in the Audubon part of the park. You can also see the Haddon Lake inside of this park. There is a public boat launch for any boating photography would you like to have done. There are many gorgeous places to get your maternity, wedding, and engagement photos done here. It has a cross country trail, bike path, gazebo, and a picnic area for any romantic photos ideas that you’d like to try.

This park also has two playground areas for your new baby’s siblings to have their pictures taken on, with picnic areas surrounding them. For those interested in sports, there is a softball field perfect for these types of photos. There are some excellent nature shots to be taken here, with the large lake with some ducks and geese to the birds flying overhead.

Hopkins Pond:

Address: Haddonfield, NJ 08033

Are you looking for a photoshoot with some birds? Head over to Hopkins Pond, where you will find the bird sanctuary and a natural history tree trail for .6 miles. With a lot of trees and a pond, you know you will get the best photos done here. Hopkins Pond can be found in Haddonfield and is a small area if you are looking for minimalistic images.

There is a looped tree trail with a hilly, wooded terrain that loops around the pond. You can also get fishing photos taken there if either of you is into fishing.

Maria Barnaby Greenwald Memorial Park:

Address: Park Blvd, Haddonfield, NJ 08033

The Greenwald Park is found in Cherry Hill. It is a little bit bigger than Hopkins Pond, but still just as beautiful. It contains part of the Cooper River as well, for those water shots you want. You can also visit the wildlife trail, where you can get excellent wildlife photography done. With a cross country course and a softball field, you can get your sporting photos done there if you would like as well. There is a 1.2-mile bike path from Grove St to Kings Highway for those perfect scenery shots.

New Brooklyn Park:

Address: Sicklerville, NJ 08081

This park is found in Winslow Township and is a much larger park than the previous two. If you would like a lot of photographs taken, this is the right place to be! It houses part of the Greet Egg Harbor River, which goes into the New Brooklyn Lake within the park. There are a lot of unmarked trails and a few dirt roads you can travel on to get that perfect shot.

With two picnic areas and a pavilion with three tables, you can get that romantic photo you have been waiting to get taken. Their bike path is 1.22 miles, so if you would like some shots of you two biking, this would be a great place to get them done. Their disc golf course, sand volleyball, and hockey courts are great for that sporty person in your family. This park’s large lake allows for plenty of water scenery in your shoots.

New Camden Park:

Address: Camden, NJ 08103

The New Camden Park is found in Camden and is adjacent to the Cooper River. This is a smaller park with some pretty paths and beautiful skies above it. You can see the trees and open spaces everywhere, and there is a little room for a small picnic. Though this park is small, it offers magnificent scenery for your photos.

Newton Lake Park:

Address: Haddon Township, NJ 08107

This park is located throughout Collingswood, Oaklyn, and Haddon Township, and the Newton Lake can be found here. As a large park, there are a lot of photography opportunities to be had here. With three picnic areas inside Lees Lane, Newton Lake Pavilion, and Collingswood Playground, you can get that perfect romantic photograph you desire.

The Matrimony Garden is a beautiful place for wedding shoots, along with engagement photos as well. You can find multiple fishing piers and a 2.34-mile bike path for those nature photos you want.

Pennypacker Park:

Address: Haddonfield, NJ 08033

A smaller park, the Pennypacker Park, is found in Haddonfield. Even though it is smaller, it contains parts of three bodies of water, the Cooper River, Hopkins Pond, and Driscoll Pond. With a lot of water and trees, you can get that perfect nature shot for your photos. 

At this park in 1858, William Foulke found the first almost complete dinosaur skeleton in the world. This park is registered as an NJ Historic Place, and you can find it by the commemorative stone there. Behind the stone is a steep ravine where the bones were excavated from back in 1858. This is a great photo opportunity for that history buff in your family.

Timber Creek Park:

Address: 236 Taylor Ave & Chews Landing Road, Blackwood, NJ 08012

Timber Creek Park is found in Lindenwold and Gloucester Township and contains the northern branch of the Big Timber Creek on its border. With a dog park, this park would be great for that dog lover to get their maternity photos done with their dog present. There is a half a mile accessible walking track along with two pavilions in this park for those romantic photos during your engagement or wedding photoshoot. 

Show your patriotism by the park’s flagpole, or travel on their cross country or natural trails for some gorgeous scenery shots.
With all of these gorgeous parks to choose from, you will have plenty of beautiful scenery in your engagement, wedding, or maternity photos. These parks will be great for remembering your special day!
